Image Servers

Image Servers are typically large databases of images and/or maps that frequently unite geospatial data with high-resolution photographs or satellite/spacecraft imagery to supply image and cartography products for users at local, national, and global scales. Most servers have user-friendly interfaces that employ graphical, statistical, and spatial relational tools for analyses of user-selected data sets. Image servers are capable of consolidating distributed data holdings to provide a unified research tool that can allow users to search multiple data sets through a single query.
